Invest in Better.

Recognizing the National Day of Truth & Reconciliation

In 2015, the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada published their Calls to Action. The Calls to Action are wide ranging and provide the opportunity to advance the process of Canadian reconciliation and redress the painful legacy of residential schools.  One of those actions, number 80 on the list of 94 reads;

“We call upon the federal government, in collaboration with Aboriginal peoples, to establish, as a statutory holiday, a National Day for Truth and Reconciliation to honour Survivors, their families, and communities, and ensure that public commemoration of the history and legacy of residential schools remains a vital component of the reconciliation process.”

September 30, 2022 marks the second National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. On that day, we will remember and honour the children, their families and their communities. We pause to acknowledge the past and recognize we have a role to play in a better future.
